Lela Rose and Stylish Bloggers

Hello Wednesday and all the sunshine you bring, what a beautiful day!
I am feeling a little pep in my step today and excited to to share with you a few tidbits.

A dear friend, who I mentioned in a previous post this summer Problem Solved is Ashley Vermillion Harris the creative genius behind her ladies clothing store Vermillion located here in Raleigh, NC. I was green with envy,(still am) because she attended the Spring 2010 fashion show at the home of fashion designer Lela Rose in her Tribeca home and drum roll, to top that she had the pleasure of meeting Celerie Kemble. Really, how lucky can one gal be? That is my girl always bumping elbows with the people you dream of.
Ashley has started a blog for Vermillion and has detailed her adventure as well as links to the NY Times article and pictures of Rose's home which is amazing and very different from what you may expect based on her classic somewhat conservative designs...a must see.

Lela's son's room, the shape of the bed and the colors I love.

On a really fun note Maureen from Eclectic Revisited awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award. Thank you so much Maureen, I look forward to paying it forward and would definietly give it back to you but that would be the 3rd time...you Stylish Blogger!  So what is a stylish blogger, well not really sure other than the rules listed below...kind of like one of those chain letters you get only it sounds more chic?
After receiving this award you have to pay it forward and follow the rules:
Rules
#1) Thank and link back to the person who awarded you.
#2) Share 7 things about yourself.
#3) Award 10 great bloggers that you have RECENTLY discovered
#4) Contact those bloggers and tell them about the award

…and to all our readers…thank-you for reading and encouraging us bloggers…sometimes it’s a lonely world until we get “discovered” and things pick up… and by all means…post comments to as many of the blogs you drop in on, just to say “Hi”, and that you appreciate what that blogger has to offer… it makes a big difference in being able to keep up with blogging…..

Lonny Love

Another Monday, a weekend passed, and the middle of the month in a few short days, where oh where do the days go? Not sure but I do know there are certainly not enough hours in a day and with it getting dark earlier I am feeling hibernation mode coming on... hmm maybe a new fur vest for that is in order!
I can hardly believe it has been a year since the first issue of Lonny Magazine launched and after flipping through their anniversary issue, released yesterday, it is true most things just get better with time. This issue is packed with gift ideas for the holidays features designers Celerie Kemble, John Robshaw and Mary McDonald and has wonderful entertaining ideas from design guru Eddie Ross. Happy Birthday Lonny what a treat!

A peek of a few of my favorite images, I don't want to spoil it for you!

Love for the Dragon

My love affair with Schumacher "Chiang Mai Dragon" began a few years ago when Domino featured designer Barrie Benson's Charlotte home and she used it on her kitchen chairs with a vinyl covering to protect it from "kid slop."
It had me from hello...
The fabric has since been on countless blogs, shown in magazines and used for everything from chairs, window treatments, wallpaper, pillows, tissue box covers, stationary, and I have even seen custom stockings for Christmas if you love it so!
Clients adore it, sometimes husbands not so much but there is no denying the power of the dragon.

I do have a certain affinity for F Schumacher fabrics, they are the tried and true staple I can always count on to please everyone. Current designer collections include Celerie Kemble and Trina Turk which are both out of sight! Quality and price point are right on and they have an awesome website that is easy to navigate when I need samples and can't get to the showroom. This week Schumacher announced their entry into the blogging world which makes me doubly excited to learn the inside scoop on inspiration for fabrics, how there were made and what designers are using where. Right now check out Trina Turk and her interview with Elle Magazine, Sara Richardson of HGTV's "Sarah's House", and the inspiration behind their "Cloisonne Weave" print.

Problem Solved

Working on this blog definitely has it rewards and I love the process of coming up with ideas, finding the information, writing it and the satisfaction of actually posting a blog. It is actually unbelievable to me that I am doing this, with 3 kids, husband, a small business and the list goes on but this little space is mine...it makes me really happy!
The technical side of it, not so much...so for the past couple of months I have had my wonderful graphic designer tweaking my site graphics here and there to bring my business logo aboard. Finally this week my computer tech guy made it possible for you to subscribe to Life of Style via email and receive mail through your main email accounts not GMail.
I know some of you have had problems with this. If this is something you would like to do then the option is the first icon on the right hand side. Small issue, easy for him to fix, big problemo for me...Solved.
Thank you for all your kind words and support and please continue to request products or items you would like to see, I will do my best to feature them!

Talk about green with envy...one of my best girlfriends had the opportunity to spend some time with one of my all time favorite designer's Celerie Kemble yesterday while hanging out in Lela Rose's Manhattan apartment. I don't have any details yet because she is still bumping elbows with the likes of Scarlett Johannson but when she gets back I am going to coerce her into guest blogging to tell us all about Mrs. Kemble and ask her if she happened to have mentioned me to her...wink wink!
